Capturing the moment whether it is a pastoral scene, a neighborhood event, city scape, sports action or a close look at a personality … … that is what I try to do … give that moment recognition and a physical way of holding it.

The close-up look, details the essence of place is the focus of my lens for record of surroundings. Whether it is for the wall over the fireplace, an office or even as personal note cards.

I look for the defining moment in competition. It's not always the winning shot, the perfect cartwheel. Sometimes it's the quiet moment before an effort, the compression of energy, the inward focus. Sport or performance — these are the distillation of commitment. I try to capture it.
It's hard to photograph the soul, what makes a person unique. By being with a subject over a period of time, insight from activity and rest provide a door to capturing the real person.
